Finding Success
Success Is A Science - Not An Art
Finding success in your life is a science and is not subject to luck; except if you win the lottery. There is a well proven path to followed by all great achievers that simply has to be copied and in this brief article I will take you step by step through this proven route.
First I’d like you to think of somebody that you know who is already successful and pay attention to the way s/he speaks and I believe you will be surprised at how positive the speech of that person is. For instance when you ask them how they are do they reply: “I’m OK thanks.” Or do they reply with a booming: “Fantastic” or “Terrific” or the more colloquial: “I never saw the sun shine brighter.”
As an observer of human behaviour I always ask: “How are you?” or “How’s life?” whenever I meet another person and from their reply I immediately know their level of self-belief or self-esteem. If they say:”Not bad” or “Could be better” I immediately know I’m dealing with one of life’s losers. If I get a resounding: “Great!” then I know I’m dealing with a person that is going somewhere in life. They may not be there yet but they are heading there.
Point 1: Speak like a successful person and your brain will start seeking the way to fulfil that dream. The first step for all people finding success is to control the way their brain see’s life.
Another marker of a successful person is whether they have written goals and whether they read their goal each day. Not too many years ago a group of Neuro Linguistic experts were profiling some of the world’s most successful people in an attempt to find the thought pattern differences between millionaires and billionaires. The only thing they could find that was different was that millionaires read their goals each day; billionaires read their goals multiple times each day.
When I am speaking to groups of people seeking self-esteem or I always suggest that the only true way to get your brain working on your goals is to recite them aloud and with feeling each day. It is one of my habits and deep down I know that most people at the seminar are seminar junkies and they will not practice what they learn for more than a few days. Hence I make the claim that they must be read aloud each day in the hope that some of the junkies will at least read them every once in a while.
Point 2: Read your goals aloud and with feeling each day at least once. This mantra acts as a direction beacon for your sub-conscious mind and your mind will then focus on finding all the right links to bring fruition.
Advice: For your first goal why not commit to “Success speak” [Yeah it’s my word]. Next time it rains don’t ever say: “I hate wet days” or words to that effect. It’s better to focus on the plants in the garden and how they’re going to benefit from this heaven sent gift of pure rain. Drop all words like hate, dislike, disgust from your vocabulary – they are holding you back. Your brain is simply a computer and we’ve all heard the old saying: Garbage in = garbage out, when speaking of computers. This is even more relevant to your brain. So from today start practicing Success speak and within weeks you will find “luck” suddenly appearing before you. You will truly be finding success and making the decisions that affect your life rather than being controlled by circumstances.
Finding success has much to do with understanding the role of goals and outcomes in our lives.
