The Human Brain Article 1

The human brain is a wonderful tool it is sole arbiter of what we achieve in life and whether we lead a harmonious life. The best thing about it is that we have total control of it

The brain of a child up to the age of five to six months can identify a group of monkeys, or any other animals, as individuals: That is they can identify facial differences between animals of the same species. (Source: recent UK research). We adults see a group of monkeys as identical and cannot tell one from the other. Have you ever wondered why and what this tells you about the way the human brain works?

To understand this we must first look at why an infant decides to discard the ability to identify animals around age six months and put their energy into identifying humans only. We are all born with this ability to differentiate one animal from another in the same manner that we are able to identify humans as individuals rather than as one of a species. From the moment we are born the human brain starts a lifelong journey of making links and breaking unwanted links. To be able to carry out all functions the brain is capable of it must create links between its various functions. This link building starts, certainly at birth, possibly before birth and continues for as long as our mind remains active.

A simple example is that almost immediately after being born a link is made between the need for food and the breast of the mother. True; they may try to suck on her finger but learn in an instant that this is not going to feed them. That is making a brain link in the most simple and basic form.

The reason a child discards the ability to identify animals as individuals and chooses only to identify humans is because they receive no reward from an animal. They soon learn that all good things come from humans so they stop developing the link that enables them to identify monkeys as individuals in favour of using it only to identify humans. At this point they have chosen to discard one link of their brain – they have technically been brainwashed into believing that only humans can provide the good things in life.

This teaches us that we, as humans, have a unique ability to use certain links that exist within the huuman brain and reject others. In other words only we, as adult humans, have control on how we choose to use our brain and by doing this controlling our destiny.

If you send negative signals to your brain on any subject the brain will break the link because you have sent the signal that this subject is of no interest to you. Don’t blame others; our brains are equal at birth and what happens after that depends upon what signals are fed to it, usually by the owner. People that understand the workings of their brain aspire to high office, great achievement and a harmonious life.
