Internet Marketing Success

The main hurdle to achieving internet marketing success is simply that we are not all created to be business people. The people that invade your inbox each day telling you their system is exactly what you are seeking for guaranteed success have a built in interest in telling you how simple it is to make big bucks. Why? Simply because they are making big bucks selling you products that will help you succeed.

Some of these self-proclaimed gurus are honest and genuinely believe that because a system worked for them it will also work for you. Notice I said “some” and purposely did not say “all”.

It is a fact of life that the internet is purpose built for confidence tricksters and many of the top gurus are no more than that. I am not going to name names but I will say be very, very careful of all who do not operate via PayPal to sell their products/subscriptions. Before you ever buy something you must check whether the system has a built in method for you to cancel a subscription – if it doesn’t do not deal with this business. One of the biggest con tricks online is to promise you the earth for a couple of dollars payable by credit card only. Normally hidden in the small print you will find that you are paying about $2 for a one week trial and after that $99 per month. This is not the way to your internet marketing success but it sure helps theirs.

As a new internet marketer you feel that you must have this product and a couple of bucks isn’t much to pay. By the time you have discovered it is not working you have probably already paid two monthly subscriptions. You contact the supplier and tell them that you wish to cease all subscriptions. They pretend that they never received your request and get another couple of payments from you. You find a phone number and telephone them – they either don’t answer the phone or if they do they explain that you must log into the website and follow instructions. You log into the website and there are no instructions for cancelling; they screw you for another couple of month’s subscriptions. They know that once you have accepted their terms you cannot cancel your credit card payments – only they can do that.

Back to the point of why you fail at internet marketing: The biggest problem is that people think they can operate any business with no experience of either business or the product they are selling. - If you are serious about building a business online why not start with something you understand. For instance if you are a mechanic or auto electrician why not find your niche within automotive products. Simply by using your in depth knowledge of cars and trucks you are 50% of the way to internet marketing success. If you do make a few mistakes on the business side they are overcome by your superior knowledge of the products.

To succeed in your online business you need to learn three skills:

- Product knowledge.

- Business knowledge.

- Internet marketing knowledge.

Once you master those skills you can start looking at all types of business opportunities online. You are always stronger when you have succeeded in getting one business venture up and running and the income from that can be used to expand.

Major problem #1 is trying to be too successful too quickly.
