There Is A Right Way And A Wrong Way

Making money online seems to be the most common topic in mail we receive. It seems to be an area where people spend most money for least results if our mail is an indicator.

Some of the things we are told include:

- I seem to spend thousands of dollars following advice but never seem to get any results.

- I have followed a program I bought online to the letter and never made a cent.

- How do I get traffic to my offer page?

- Does anything sell online?

Those four statements are a microcosm of the many emails we receive seeking advice or opinions about making money online.

This is a dilemma for us because although this website is primarily about lifestyle and understanding people we do from time to time mention that we are also online marketers.

We never claim to be guru’s because many of the articles on this website warn you about believing the self-proclaimed gurus. Most of them [gurus] couldn’t sell a heater to an Eskimo.

Many were just fortunate enough to be online in the days when Google AdWords cost a few cents and people willingly joined their lists. In short they were the easy days when people saw the novelty of buying online and buyer resistance was unheard of.

Today those conditions do not exist and 90% of what is preached by self-proclaimed experts is so out of date that it has no chance of working.

Be warned you will not succeed by the amount of money you spend but rather by the amount of money you make.

Having read what I’ve written above may make you believe that making money online is near impossible. This is not the case. Today more money is spent online that at any time in the past and this amount increases by 15% each year worldwide. So we could argue that it has never been easier to run an online business.

The internet is maturing at the same rate as the users mature; people are more aware of bargain shopping and rarely jump at the first offer of anything they see online. They demand better service and better protection. All of this is fair and reasonable.

It could be argued that the past 15 years of internet marketing have been the Wild West days where the biggest crooks appeared to be the most successful marketers. Today the tactics they employed are frowned upon by the buying public so they can only sell to newcomers who are not yet used to them.

We have decided to write a few articles that may help would be internet marketers find their feet in this industry and start to make steady income and build from that base. Some of the things we will not do include:

- These schemes never work for anybody except the person selling them.

- Tell you of programs that you need to succeed which will cost you money and make us commissions. If we ever recommend a paid program we will give you a direct link or tell you that we make a commission if you buy through the link.

- We will never send you emails promoting any products either before at launch.

We will endeavour to direct you to free software wherever it exists providing it will help you in the very simple task of improving your marketing clout.

We do not claim to be expert online marketers but we do make a pretty good living solely by selling things online. There is nothing difficult about selling online and having people come back to buy a second and third time. People who claim it is difficult are normally trying to sell you their course or software which promises making money online will be much easier if you buy.

Making money online isn't too hard a task. You just need to have a plan and follow it.
