Work From Home
Work from home isn't new: For many years millions of people have been striving to find a surefire way to earn extra income online by having their own internet business. A few succeed and a great many fail. This isn't an unusual phenomena because virtually the same statistics apply to off line, or high street, businesses.
Another thing that both online and offline have in common is that the success, or failure, of the business is directly linked to the number of people that visit your business. But after this comparisons cease to exist because the fact is that marketing on the world wide web is totally different to marketing in the high street.
The first question we must answer before starting any business is: "How will I market this business to ensure the maximum number of people visit it?"
To answer that question we must first examine another question: "Why do people use the internet?" When we know the answer to this question we will have a base to start building our individual marketing plan.
The answer is that people visit the internet seeking fr/ee information. They rarely visit the internet with credit card primed and ready to buy.
The question this raises is: "Now that I know people use the internet to get fr/ee information how can I get a proportion of these internet surfers to visit my site?"
In marketing there is a rule that states: Give the people what they want and they will flock to you. - So, give them quality information and a certain number of them will build rapport with you and start looking upon you as an expert in your chosen field.
Alternatively you can put a sales letter on your site so that when people visit seeking information all they get is a sales pitch. Can you guess what they do when they arrive at a site seeking fr/ee information and all they find is a sales letter asking them to spend cash? For the few that haven't already guessed the answer is that they restart their search and look elsewhere. You have lost a visitor because you do not understand the dynamics of running a work from home business. That is one person you will never sell anything to that will join the ever growing list of people that will dislike the idea of dealing with you.
The first tool you need if you plan to work from home is your own website. We have no problem with recommending Site Build It because not only do we use it, and have done so for many years, this site is powered by Site Build It and we have never known downtime.
The next question you need to answer is: "What am I an expert at?" When you find the answer to this question you are ready to start your work from home project.
You probably are unsure of the answer but trust me you do have knowledge that tens of thousands of people would like to share. Such as, fishing, gardening, various sports, sewing, knitting, child raising, animal care, medical conditions, writing, acting, introducing people - we could go on forever but I guess you have the idea now.
You start a website that will enable you to share your expertise on a given subject with others from all orners of the earth. this website has regular readers in USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, China, Russia, Israel, Egypt, Germany, France, Italy and even Brazil. There are more but the above gives you an idea of how vast the world wide web is.
If you take a few minutes to sift through the pages you will find they are stacked with information that some people wish to read.
Here is a major tip: Many people try to convince you that you just have to put your details into a ready made sales page that they have built for you and you are going to make income. Sorry it does not work that way - you can spend a small fortune advertising your link but as soon as people see it is just a sales page they leave it. This way you will only make pennies.
If you wish to work from home you will need a base to work from and that base is your first website. Even if you have no idea how to build one there are systems that cater for you and allow you to simply fillout the blank spaces with your content.
Imagine you have built a site about caring for a certain breed of dog: From that site you can sell dog food, dog accessories, dog training courses and a whole host of things connected to dogs. When your readers have built trust in the quality of knowledge you share with them they will automatically click on the links in your website to buy products. This will provide your work from home income.
However; be warned that if you don't provide good quality knowledge on your website it is almost certain that you will fail because you do not meet the basic marketing criterion of giving the people what they want.
